Hasn’t played regularly in over a year so would take ages to get match fit, even if he was actually good enough to play in a position we need someone for.

Signing Lingard makes little sense, as we have no shortage of options that play where he would play.
I hope there is some sense of priority on our targets, and Lingard, or even anyone very good in his position, is way down on the list of priorities.

It's a "Maybe" from me. On his day he's a very good player, but inconsistent. I definitely wouldn't want us to buy him, but if he has grown up a bit and sorted out his off-field problems and Moyes thinks he can get the best out of him, what's the harm in taking him on loan.
